Europe France Paris

Solo Backpacking in Europe: Paris – alone and alive in the City of Love – I

I thought I won’t be able to sleep in Sleeper train, but it turns out OK. I had 6 hours sleep.

We arrived in Paris at 7:30 am.

First thing first is to find kiosk for day pass transportation, which is on the basement of the station. I chose Zone 1-3 Paris Visite for 2 days, for €18,95.

Once I had my pass, I followed the directions in the Plug Inn hostel site.
But of course, I ride the wrong train ?.

When I finally arrived at the Abbesses station..unexpected happened. The lift was not working, OK then I will just take the stairs. But then, while walking upstairs, I heard someone said, its like 100 something steps..woah woah wait, should I stop, cause I’m already out of breath, and my backpack is really killing me.

When I finally see the light, OMG, literally, I can’t breath, it’s like I’m having a heart attack or whatsoever..and then I saw the lift is working already…what the!!!!

Now I just need to walk to Plug inn hostel, it’s not that far from the station.
Since (again), I arrived early in Plug inn, I left my luggage and some stuff in their storage room. So I can start my tour ?

I don’t know where to go first, so I decided to visit the Shakespeare bookstore.

There’s a limit of people who wants to go inside. And picture-taking is not allowed.

After looking around, I bought a notebook for my closest friend as a gift, and at the counter, they will ask you if you want their stamp, of course I do ?

I noticed a cathedral, and I wonder, what is that place,it seems there’s a lot of people going in there.
When I found the sign, I can’t believe that it is already the Notre Dame cathedral,?.

And of course, I found the point zero! ?

I’m getting hungry, but I still don’t know what to eat,?
But I’m craving for some bread (again).

After that, I went to Pont Alexandre III, it’s a bit of walk to go there, and the weather is not so good (at least it’s not raining).

Ooooppss, it started to shower ?
So the photos of Champs-Élysées is not so good because of the fog and raindrops. For those who love shopping, this place would be perfect ?

And of course, I won’t let the day ends without seeing The Louvre and the Eiffel tower. Just for the night shots ?
Site: The Louvre Hours & Admission

For the Eiffel tower, it takes me 12 minutes of walking from, hmm..I forgot the station’s name..?

I’m really starving.
Along the way, you will find a lot of restaurants. Happy stomach ?

Since Moulin Rouge is just a walking distance from my hostel, I take advantage of it to have a night shot.

If you’re planning an itinerary in Paris, Passport Symphony also has a great post on what to see in Paris in a day.

Now I’m really tired and sleepy, so I went back to hostel to check in and rest ?
