Solo Backpacking in Europe: Paris – alone and alive in the City of Love – II

As usual I woke up early, to start my day right, LOL
I ate breakfast in the hostel. It’s an eat all you can, except for the bread that the server will give you 2 breads, I think that’s enough .  And I love their cereal, the one with chocolate chips ?

Because I really love the Louvre, I went back there to take a picture in the morning. There are still few tourist at that time. But well, the weather is still not good. Good thing I have my umbrella with me ?

And then its time for Eiffel tower.
I really wanted to take a photo shoot of the Eiffel tower in different angles, that’s why I search where I can find the best places/spots. I think I got most of them,?.
Each tourist spots will require a lot of walk. (So tired )

I need to go upstairs to Eiffel tower. I opt the stairs instead of the lift, because the queue is too long, besides, I’m so impatient, LOL.
For the stairs, it’s just €7, for the lift, I think it’s 12 or €15, this is for the 1st and 2nd floor.

I’m not sure how many stairs it is, but I’ll tell you it’s really really high ?
The view from 1st and 2nd floor.

After taking the picture and wandering around, well first I need to find a restroom before going down, good thing there’s one in the shop at first floor.

Going down was a bit easier of course, but I was lost not just me, 3 of us were lost, finding the exit. We were at the machine part of Eiffel Tower, which tourists are not allowed, then someone just appear out of nowhere, and told us that it is prohibited place, and we told him that we can’t find the exit,?..he just laughed at us, and make a call to let us out ?

The view from the wrong exit.

Time to go to Arc de Triomphe, I plan to go upstairs, but as I said, my feet are so tired, so I just took a picture at the center of the road.

Yeah, I know, it’s kinda irritating, but we’re not disturbing the road, are we??

The Place de la Concorde is just around the corner. Well, you still need to take the subway. Or if you want, you can also walk, for me, subway it is.

I went back to the hostel, to take a rest and eat something. Before going to the Louvre museum, I’m just too late though, because when I arrived at the museum, I just only have 1.5hrs to roam around.. LOL

At least, I was able to see Mona Lisa.
And was able to see all in that span of time, wahaha..(well at some point I rushed ?)

  1. You’re so brave for backpacking on your own like that. And you got a legit baguette? Yum!
Also, I have a question. I don’t mean to be insensitive, but I heard that Paris doesn’t smell very good. Is that true?

  2. Truly, you seemed to have really had a great time in Paris. You started your day right, since having a meal in the morning is what keeps your energy high enough to amble around cause being here requires a lot of walk. Just like you, I also do research in regard to what angle should I take when taking a photo, especially in a very beautiful Eiffel tower.

  3. I’ve always wanted to go solo backpacking in Europe. But it’s kinda scary and I don’t have the resources just yet. Awesone that you get to do it. 🙂

  4. I love the different angles of the Eiffel Tower! The one through the arch and with the carousel are my favorite!! I have never made it all the way up the top of the Tower, so congrats! I walk to halfway as a kid, and then took the elevator with my grandma once. All the various places inspires me to go on vacation abroad again – I went to Italy last summer, and it was fantastic.

  5. Paris is a city full of culture and art. I remember my trip there, I think the weather and season was similar to yours. I spent so much time in the queues so that I thought it is impossible to visit the best artactions in few days, esspecially Louvre.

  6. It’s mesmerising city with all hot spot tourist places. It took around four hours to see the louvere museum and I was very much disappointing that i couldn’t even saw quarter of it:-) It is difficult sometimes to wander and be enthusiastic at the same time, so keep hydrated while walking. T winkling stars light from Effilel tower is the best thing I love about the Paris.

  7. There is definitely something about Paris! I loved walking around the old buildings and trying to imagine how it was in the old days. I never went up to Eiffel Tower though. Maybe because of the lines. So much to see in Paris.

  8. Paris looks breathtaking! I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, although I’m sure you’re exhausted. I hope to visit this magical city one day. Thanks for sharing!

  9. I love that you explored on your own – and backpacking nonetheless! And how nice that the hostel had breakfast. That’s a huge plus to be able to grab a bite before heading out.

  10. Okay, I have to admit I am totally jealous right now! Haha! Great photos. The ceiling in the Louvre is incredible! And I always thought the Mona Lisa was a lot larger than it really is. Love all of the different shots you took of the Eiffel Tower too.
